With a passion to build strong communities, Laura Dunkley is committed to supporting the wellness and environmental sustainability initiatives within her local community - Niagara, Ontario.


Laura's commitment to the health and wellness of her community includes actively supporting local organizations in Niagara, Ontario and surrounding areas, that share her vision of sustainability; including the well-being of our people, planet & profits.

She offers her skills, energy and passion, while contributing her expertise, financial support, and action, to help build up her local community - Niagara, Ontario (Canada).

Volunteer service contributions include fundraising, marketing, and sometimes 'boots-on-the-ground' jobs to get things done.

Niagara Sustainability Initiative (NSI)

Niagara Sustainability Initiative (NSI) is a non-profit organization, which acts as a catalyst for Niagara’s businesses, municipalities and organizations to meet its present needs without compromising those of future generations. The Board provides overall governance leadership, guides the organization’s strategy, oversees operations, provides advice to staff, and, generally, seeks to ensure NSI accomplishes its vision and mission.

Niagara Farm Project

  • Board Member (2015-Present)

The Niagara Farm Project is a collaborative, non-profit organization that recognizes food production is an important ecosystem service that is central to human welfare. Our goal is to develop a system of farming, specific to Niagara, which establishes a self-reliant food economy. We work largely within the so-called “barter system” and use the food we produce as the currency of our organization.

Niagara Land Trust

The Niagara Land Trust (NLT) believes it is important to conserve the natural heritage of the Niagara Peninsula today for future generations. Their focus is to acquire and manage land for public interest and benefit, while providing leadership in sustainable land stewardship.  

Continuing to support Niagara Land Trust by providing communications strategy, fundraising event support, and communications management as needed.

Long Beach Bike Ride for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of South Niagara 

  • Marketing Committee Member & Rider Leader (2015, 2016)

We raised over $13K in 2015 and almost the same the following year!   The Long Beach Ride was a fun road ride put on by the local community cycling enthusiasts in Wainfleet, Ontario (Niagara).
